Paul Lipsmeyer

Heart Patient, Conway

When Paul Lipsmeyer’s heart failed him, he knew he was in a fight for his life. What he didn’t know is that his new heart would open up a whole new world for him.

Paul’s troubles began in the summer of 1995 when he developed congestive heart failure. At that point, it became clear that he needed a heart transplant. Eight months later, Paul received a call from Baptist Health informing him that a donor heart had become available.

Following his successful transplant, Paul recovered fairly quickly and was able to focus on the future with his family instead of worrying about his health.

From his son graduating from medical school to the birth of his two grandchildren and all of life’s moments in between, Paul takes nothing for granted – especially his new heart.

"After my transplant, it was like a new world to me," says Paul. "Many of the things I never thought I would be able to do or see were now available to me."

Keep on thriving. Keep on experiencing. #KeepOnAmazing
